The movie "Homeless to Harvard" is very effective it shows people that anything is possible with just hard work and dedication. It also teaches us to be grateful for everything we have, because there are people that go through worse everyday. My favorite part of the movie is when liz's mom is begging them for the money to buy drugs and liz gives it to her because she would do anything to see her mom smile. I like this part because she was so desperate for sometime of affection and she would do anything to see her mom happy, even if she knows it could hurt her mom in the long run.
Also, liz was very strong to be 15 and she did what she had to do to be successful. She stayed up late everyday doing work, her life basically revolved around school. If I was in her situation I would have done the same thing because growing up in that environment would show me I wouldn't want to spend my whole life like that.

I agree that this movie makes others realize how fortunate they really are. I realized that my circumstances in life could be way worse and that i'm lucky to have the family and friends that I do.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this movie. It helped me see that I can do anything that i put my mind to. I really liked that part of the movie you mentioned because, she loved her mom so much she did not want to see her mom suffer. She just wanted to see her mom smile.
ReplyDeletei agree, it was pretty significant that she enabled her mom just to see her smile. It also shows her understanding of the fact that people will do what they need to, to get what they want. Also that her mom needed to "come to" by herself.
ReplyDeleteI think i would do the same thing to try to get an education and not get envolved in the drugs and gangs and stuff.
